At the June board meeting , the MISD Board of Trustees approved the hiring of a new district administrator as well as a promotion for the Mansfield High School principal.
Administration
Darrell A. Sneed has been named the Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Education. Darrell Sneed, pictured at right, comes back to MISD with 27 years of experience in education. He served seven years as the principal of James Bowie High School in the Arlington ISD, five years as the principal at T.A. Howard Middle School in MISD, and a combined fourteen years as assistant principal at two school and classroom history teacher and coach.
Sneed holds a Master of Education from the Universtiy of North Texas along with Principal/Mid-Management and Superintendent's Certifications.
“I am looking forward to the challenge of working in this growing district,” says Sneed. “Many things have changed since I was in the district and I am excited about the opportunity to work with principals and coordinators to help ensure that all students are successful.”
Mansfield High School
Cynthia McCallum has been named the next principal at Mansfield High School. McCallum has 22 years in education. She has served in the Mansfield ISD most recently as the Academic Associate Principal at Mansfield Legacy High School in 2007-2008. Prior to that she was an Assitant Principal at Mansfield High School, Principal at Venus Middle School, Assistant Principal at Venus High School plus a combined 18 years as a classroom teacher in Mansfield ISD and Burleson ISD.
McCallum holds a Master of Education along with a Mid-Management Certification from Tarleton State University.

As a former MHS teacher and parent of two MHS graduates, I look forward to serving and leading the talented, dedicated, and spirited MHS students, faculty, staff, and supportive community.”
