At the Tuesday, May 22 board meeting, school board trustees appointed Dr. Bob Morrison as the Deputy Superintendent for Mansfield ISD.
Dr. Morrison has been in public education for 18 years, four of those years with MISD. Originally, Dr. Morrison signed on as the Director of Student Services for MISD, where he oversaw student registration, transfers and discipline. Last summer he was named the Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Education for MISD. Since then, Dr. Morrison has facilitated the attendance zone process for Legacy High School, the AB block schedule change as well as other curriculum improvements.
"We are happy with the direction that the district is moving," said MISD School Board President Dan Phillips. "This is part of a transition plan as we look forward to the future of MISD."
Prior to his position with MISD, Dr. Morrison was the principal of Memorial High School in Edmond, Oklahoma. While Morrison was principal of Edmond Memorial, the school was named a National Blue Ribbon School and he was named Oklahoma Principal of the Year.
