[March 22, 2007] Mansfield ISD receives Communications Awards

MISD received nine 2006 TSPRA Awards for excellence in school communications. The awards were announced at the Texas School Public Relations Association [TSPRA] Star Awards Celebration February 22, 2007 during the organization's annual conference in Austin.

Each year TSPRA recognizes school communicators for outstanding work in both print and electronic media. This year, more than 1150 entries were received. Entries selected as best in the state were honored with Silver Star, Gold Star and Best of Category Awards.

Entries are judged by Texas public relations, marketing, video production and graphics professionals using a standard set of evaluation criteria based on current professional industry standards.

The MISD Communications Department Received Awards in the following categories:

TSPRA, based in Austin, is a professional organization, with more than 900 members who are dedicated to improving public education in Texas by promoting effective public relations practices, providing professional development for its members, and improving communication between Texans and their public schools.

This year, TSPRA's annual conference drew more than 500 attendees. Conference sponsors were The Texas High School Project, Connect-ED, SHW Group, Harris Connect, Brady Hull & Associates, Dell, HEB and O'Connell Robertson & Associates.
