The Mansfield ISD Community Multi-Scholarship Program awarded 81 scholarships to seniors from Mansfield High School, Summit High School, Timberview High School, and the Alternative Education Program.
There are about 40 donor groups who work throughout the year to raise funds to provide the scholarships to give many MISD seniors an extra boost to start the next step of their education.
Chuck Wilson, Multi-Scholarship Chairman, Lynn Pemberton, Community Liaison, and Andrea Hensley, District Liaison, would like to thank all of the many participants in the community groups who make the scholarships one of their priority goals each year and raise these much needed monies. The groups also thanks the people who diligently read almost 300 applications and selected the recipients.
The Mansfield ISD Community Multi-Scholarship Program is in its 28th year. It began in 1979 with Trinity Forge, Inc. and Mansfield State Bank awarding two scholarships to two graduating Mansfield High School seniors. Many groups have joined the process over the years and the program has grown to be a great opportunity for scholarship seekers.
If any group or business would like to give a scholarship in the 2008 process which will begin in January and conclude in May of 2008, please contact Chairman Chuck Wilson at the Mansfield Community Bank (817-473-5979), or Lynn Pemberton (817-946-4533) or Andrea Hensley-MISD Liaison (817-453-7123).
MISD will have four high schools open plus the Alternate Education Center next year and there will be many deserving students at each campus who could benefit from more donor participation. |
